Astrology, for fun
♓ Pisces
Feb 19 ~ Mar 20 · Water · Mutable · Ruler Neptune (traditionally Jupiter)
Pisces is a pair of fish tied together by a cord at their tails. When the monster Typhon stormed in, Aphrodite and her son Eros turned into fish and dove into a river, binding themselves together so they wouldn't be separated. The constellation is made of faint stars and hard to spot from the city, but it traces a wide V across the sky.
Pisces season closes out winter in the Northern Hemisphere, just before spring arrives. As the last of the twelve signs, it wraps up the cycle and waits for the fresh start of the equinox. Fun fact: because of precession, the Sun actually sits inside the constellation Pisces at the March equinox today, while on Pisces dates it spends most of its time in front of Aquarius. Sign and constellation simply aren't the same thing.
Pisces is traditionally described as deeply empathetic and richly imaginative. It's said to feel other people's emotions as if they were its own, to be drawn to music, art, and stories, and to embrace others gently. As a Water sign ruled by Neptune (traditionally Jupiter), it is pictured as full of dreams and intuition.
The kindness to understand how others feel quietly warms everyone nearby. Put on some music you love today and let yourself drift for a little while.
At its best
Empathetic, imaginative, and gentle. Pisces is said to put people at ease with its kindness and artistic sensitivity.
Worth watching
On days when you've absorbed a lot of other people's feelings, some quiet time alone helps. Saying no now and then is a kind way to look after yourself.
