♌ Leo

Leo is the Nemean Lion from the first of the labors of Hercules. Its hide could not be pierced by any weapon, so Hercules overcame it with his bare hands and wore the skin as a cloak ever after. The bright star at the lion's heart, Regulus, means 'little king.'

Leo season is high summer in the Northern Hemisphere, when the sunshine feels strongest, and the sign has long been linked with the Sun itself. Because of precession, the Sun actually spends the early part of these dates in front of Cancer and only reaches the constellation Leo around August 10. The astrological Leo is a stretch of the seasons, which is a fun detail to keep in mind.

Leo is traditionally described as confident and big-hearted. It's said to step naturally into the spotlight, express itself vividly, and be wonderfully generous with the people it loves. As a Fire sign ruled by the Sun, it is pictured as warm, creative, and hard to overlook.

Leo shines brightest when sharing what it loves with confidence. Give yourself credit for even a small win today, and let the good mood spread to the people around you.

At its best

Confident, generous, and warm. Leo is said to have a natural presence and a creative flair that draws people in.

Worth watching

Making room for others to shine makes the stage even bigger. Offering praise first, rather than waiting for it, can be a lovely habit.
