Major Arcana 6
The Lovers
choiceharmonysincerity
Imagery and symbolism
Under a radiant sun, an angel with outspread wings blesses two people from above the clouds. Behind the woman stands a fruit tree with a serpent coiled around it, behind the man a tree bearing flames, and a mountain rises in the distance between them. The scene recalls the Garden of Eden and carries not only love but also the question of "what will you choose?" Traditionally the Lovers represent harmony between two hearts and an important choice made sincerely according to one's values.
Upright
| My day | Today, honestly choose what your heart is drawn to. You may feel warm understanding in your conversations with others. |
|---|---|
| Work | Teaming up with like-minded people lifts the quality of the work right now. If you face a fork in the road, the option that matches your values is the one that lasts. |
| Relationships & love | This is a time when your hearts connect easily. Honest expression of feelings makes the relationship deeper and stronger. |
| What is on my mind | If the heart of the worry is a choice, listen to what your heart wants as well as what your head calculates. The answer lies where the two voices meet. |
Reversed
| My day | Your heart may sway back and forth as a choice approaches. Anything that does not have to be decided today can wait one more day. |
|---|---|
| Work | You and your collaborators may have drifted slightly apart in direction. Realigning on the results you each want makes teamwork much smoother. |
| Relationships & love | If it feels like you want different things, talk about wishes instead of blame. Saying "this is what I would love" narrows the distance. |
| What is on my mind | A choice made to meet others' expectations may be weighing on you. Take another look at which values truly matter to you. |
