The Chariot

Imagery and symbolism

A young man in armor stands in a chariot beneath a canopy of stars, with a black sphinx and a white sphinx resting in front. Curiously, he holds no reins. He steers the two sphinxes, who look in different directions, by will rather than by hand. Crescent moons decorate his shoulders, and behind him are a walled city and a river. Traditionally the Chariot represents the focus and self-control to unite opposing feelings or forces and move toward a goal.

Upright

My day	Today is a good day to set a goal and push forward with energy. Focusing your effort in one direction produces visible progress.
Work	This is a time when you can pull scattered opinions and tasks together and lead. Clear deadlines and goals get the whole team running in the same direction.
Relationships & love	Talk about the direction you want to go together. Two people looking toward the same place get past small differences easily.
What is on my mind	If two parts of you are clashing, acknowledge that both belong to you. Once you pick a destination, both can run together.

Reversed

My day	You may want to speed up but find it hard today. Pausing to recheck your direction actually gets you there faster.
Work	Trying to drive many tasks at once may spread your energy thin. Pick the most important one and gather your strength there.
Relationships & love	If conversations are turning into win or lose, slow down for a moment. Simply hearing the other person out can change the whole mood.
What is on my mind	Impatience may be clouding your judgment. Separating what you can do today from what has to wait calms the mind.

Advice

Decide clearly where you are headed, and guide your wavering feelings in that direction rather than suppressing them.
