Astrology, for fun
♐ Sagittarius
Nov 22 ~ Dec 21 · Fire · Mutable · Ruler Jupiter
Sagittarius is the archer centaur, human from the waist up and horse below. Some stories identify him with the wise centaur Chiron, others with Crotus, said to have invented archery. His arrow points at Antares, the heart of neighboring Scorpius, and that direction leads toward the center of our galaxy, which is why the Milky Way looks especially rich around Sagittarius on clear summer nights.
Sagittarius season runs from late autumn into early winter in the Northern Hemisphere, as the year winds down and thoughts turn to faraway places and the year ahead. Because of precession, the Sun now passes in front of Scorpius and Ophiuchus on these dates and only enters Sagittarius in mid-December. Remembering that signs are seasonal slices clears up the confusion.
Sagittarius is traditionally described as an optimistic, freedom-loving explorer. It's said to be drawn to new places and new ideas, to be candid and good-humored, and to look for the big picture and deeper meaning. As a Fire sign ruled by Jupiter, it is pictured as broad-minded and eager to learn.
Looking toward the horizon brings fresh air into everyday life. Jot down one place you'd like to go or one thing you'd like to learn today, and sketch out a small first step.
At its best
Optimistic, honest, and adventurous. Sagittarius is said to open up new possibilities for everyone around it.
Worth watching
Keeping small promises as well as big plans builds even deeper trust. Pairing honesty with a warm word goes a long way.
