Astrology, for fun
♎ Libra
Sep 23 ~ Oct 22 · Air · Cardinal · Ruler Venus
Libra is the only zodiac sign represented by an object rather than a person or animal: a set of scales. It is often linked to the scales of Astraea, goddess of justice, which pairs it neatly with neighboring Virgo. Ancient skywatchers once saw these stars as the claws of the Scorpion, and one of its star names still means 'southern claw.'
Libra begins at the September equinox, when day and night are nearly equal in length, a perfect match for a symbol of balance. Because of precession, the Sun now spends most of these dates in front of Virgo. The astrological Libra is less a star pattern than a stretch of the calendar marking the start of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.
Libra is traditionally described as someone who values harmony and fairness. It's said to see things from the other person's side, smooth over tense moments, and have a natural eye for beauty and good taste. As an Air sign ruled by Venus, it is pictured as shining in relationships and conversation.
Creating a space where everyone feels at ease is a bigger talent than it looks. Today, try putting your own feelings on the scale too, right alongside everyone else's.
At its best
Fair-minded, kind, and diplomatic. Libra is said to ease tensions gracefully and to have a keen eye for beauty.
Worth watching
Weighing everyone's views can slow decisions down. It helps to trust the way your own heart leans, too.
