Major Arcana 1
The Magician
Imagery and symbolism
A magician in a red robe raises a wand toward the sky with one hand and points to the ground with the other. An infinity sign floats above his head, and on the table before him lie a cup, a sword, a coin (pentacle) and a wand. These four objects are the four suits of the tarot, standing for feeling, thought, material reality and passion. Like the gesture of "bringing what is above down to earth," the Magician represents the focus and skill to turn ideas into real action. The roses and lilies around him suggest that things go well when passion and a clear intention work together.
Upright
| My day | Today is a good day to actually start something you have been putting off. You already have the tools you need, so pick one thing and move on it. |
|---|---|
| Work | When you bring your skills and experience together, you can create more than you expect. Do not leave ideas as talk; show them as a small draft or prototype. |
| Relationships & love | This is a time when active gestures carry weight in expressing how you feel. A kind word or a small promise you actually keep builds trust. |
| What is on my mind | The thread you need is probably already within reach. Writing down what you have, who could help and how much time you can use helps the path take shape. |
Reversed
| My day | Your attention may scatter in many directions today. Choosing just one priority and finishing it makes the day feel much more solid. |
|---|---|
| Work | You have plenty of talent, but the direction may still be blurry. Rewriting your goal in one sentence makes it clearer where to put your energy. |
| Relationships & love | A small gap may have opened between your words and your actions. Consistent, sincere behavior reaches the other person more than grand gestures do. |
| What is on my mind | Check whether you are underestimating your own abilities. Recalling what you have already accomplished can give you the confidence to move again. |
